I got about 30 minutes of play before the menu items began behaving like they were mired in mud, essentially useless, as is the game :(. A very good adaptation of the board game. It is light on the rules but it still requires thought. There are a lot of funny moments in the campaign mission briefings, playing on WW2 movie characters and stereotypes. The addition of 'hot seat' mode is also quite useful.. Well, I was unsure at first but now I definitely don’t regret playing it. The game is fast but I can see it has depth with all the stats and abilities.Dice is frustrating at times and I don’t like the fact that with bad luck I can’t win missions I have already figured out!Roguelike is difficult as hell while campaigns seem a little too easy…However I haven’t yet tackled the UK one, which is labeled as the most difficult one.Overall it seems to me a fun and deep game if you are into strategy games. And the boardgame flavor is definitely a plus!. I see the beginnings of something good here, but I cannot recommend the game as it currently stands. As a big fan of the board game, I was anticpating this game with high hopes. Unforutnately, everytime I play the PC version, I am hugely dissappointed. I try to play the game within the rules I know and come to find out that those particular rules are not implemented in the game, from card play to the use of transports. Even if you are unfamiliar with the tabletop version, you will be baffled by the rule icons on the unit tiles that are either not included in the game or poorly explained. I am happy to try a game that is ready for release. However, I stay far away from early access games because I am uninterested in an unfinished product. This game is certainly unfinished and should be labeled accordingly.. I played the board game with a friend and I was looking forward to play the game on my PC. I am a fan of strategy game and the game met my expectation. Dice can be very frustrating to non-boardgamers but devs have implemented a new mode that ease the dice luck factor and get newbies in the game in a smoother way. Lot of content to be played, Boardgamers, as I am, will not be disappointed.. watch the videos, then watch the live twitch feeds and see it for yourself, to make sure it's your cup of tea, then buy it, install it, play it, and you will enjoy what must be one of the most additive games of the year, totally frustrating yes, hard to finish and beat, well yes, re playability very good and let's be honest, price is a steal atm.enjoyment level from this game is very high per cost spent, it's one of those games in single player that will have you pulling your hair out to beat it, but laughing as you do it, in online play against someone online all the time it's good, but with a slower player can be like chess, so pick your friends and get it finished quicker that way unless you wish for multiple games on at once so when one finishes you start another, either way enjoy it.there's plenty to do, regarding levels and hard core modes, plenty of units to pick and choose, learning curve is well pick it up and jump right in, skill comes later regarding cover and bonus etc, but from day one and your first turn, you will either have the marmide moments of loving it, or hating it, for me it's fun and i love it.for you it's a matter of choice, don't moan if you don't like, as it's your fault for not reading the advice given above, and that goes for all games, do you're home work first, once bought and played you'll then know it's money worth spent.good luck commander, keep your head down, laugh at the funny bits, smile at the silly bits and don't swear when the dice rolls against you.... Let me start by saying I have the boardgame version of this game and enjoy playing it. From reading the game manual, the goal of the game is to recreate the mechanics of the boardgame. The reason I had to go to the manual was due to a faulty implementation. Sound in the tutorials does not work, all I get a buzzing sound. Certain user interface components overlap, making it impossible to access what lies under the top layer. Cards, an important component in the boardgame, are not yet implemented. There is no way to control graphics or sound through the use of a settings or options menu. [There is an options menu which gives two sliders that are not labeled. Message to the developers: this is rather useless.] (I'm running on an Alienware machine that meets all of the requirements for this game.)After trying a different machine, I was able to try the tutorials and get through them. There are typos and some other minor issues, but overall, it plays reasonably well. However, the lack of cards is annoying.Update: I just tried the 1.06 patch and it's a big improvement. The game plays a lot better and the feedback from the game is a lot better. Since they are updating regularly, I'm going to assume the cards and other fixes are coming and I will change my overall review to "recommended".Overall, this game appears to have been shoved out the door a month or two before it was really ready. I have hopes that these issues will be addressed by the developers, however at this point I cannot recommend it. That's a shame because I was looking forward to the game.. This is a great game. I was too lazy and waited too long to write this.It is a great table-top war game experience. The multi-player games that i had went very well but these days most of the games in the list are passworded. maybe there is a league i dont know about or something. i dont know what held this game back from being hugely popular and widely played . For me it provides a great table-top experience with fun mechanics.. I played the board game with a friend and I was looking forward to play the game on my PC. I am a fan of strategy game and the game met my expectation. Dice can be very frustrating to non-boardgamers but devs have implemented a new mode that ease the dice luck factor and get newbies in the game in a smoother way. Lot of content to be played, Boardgamers, as I am, will not be disappointed.
